THE TITANIUM ADVANCED OXIDATION PROCESS (AOP)
The AOP system is the next generation of UV treater. Although UV propagates the process the mechanism is entirely different and very much more effective. The AOPs efficiency is due to the production of Hydroxyl Radicals (OH) within its reaction chamber. These highly reactive species oxidise any organic matter present. Figure 1 shows an outline schematic of the process.
How effective is the AOP Unit?
Hydroxyl Radicals are the second most powerful oxidising agents after fluorine. They display an oxidative strength of more than twice that of chlorine. Hence in the reactor viruses, bacteria and other pathogens are eradicated faster and more effectively than any other system available today.
Chemistry and Mechanism
The Titanium AOP System differs from standard UV treatment. Unlike UV the Titanium AOP Unit enables both of the following photochemical mechanisms.
